Why is 40 the Magic Number for Growing Your Home Based Business?

I have listened to two Training Webinars today and both emphasized the same thing about building a home-based business. Spend 70% of your time making appointments and adding people to your business. 

The magic number that came up during both Webinars is adding 40 people to your business in order to generate the level of residual income that will enable you to have the financial freedom that we all dream about. 

Add 40 people and then help the people that you have added to your business to also grow their business. You just need to start from somewhere -- adding the first three customers and then developing the self-confidence to add more people.

You need to look for people that are interested in having financial independence. You need to find out what  their WHY is? That is, their "Hot Buttons"!



Hot Buttons

"Hot Buttons" could include 1) using natural products; 2) replacing lost income, if they have been laid off; 3) supplementing their regular paycheck; 4) paying for children's college; 5) buying a new car; 6) creating an emergency fund; 7) retiring early with enough income; and 8) having the freedom to travel and see the world. 

For Baby Boomers, most of whom have not saved enough for retirement -- their WHY may include supplementing retirement income and also, assisting parents who may not have long-term care insurance or adequate funds for their retirement.

Whatever their WHY may be you should determine if they are looking for ways to earn an extra income.
